Targa top doesn't fit so well...

I'm having similar troubles to this thread (thought it better to start a new one than hijack/revive the old one...correct?). However my troubles are a little different in some places. My windows appear to go to high up (I think I need new stoppers).

targa top adjustments

In addition, once the top is on, it pushes my windows away from the vertical body seal (rear of the window). Is there some adjustment that can be made, or do I have the wrong seals? Wrong top? I just got the car recently, so I may as well fix it before spring time Thank in advance.
Jamie
p.s. I will post pics once I go home; they will likely explain it a lot better than I can.

You can adjust the windows so they don't roll up as high as what you have now. Get a copy of the Bentley manual or do a search on this forum for window adjustments.

I close the doors by pushing on the glass so that the top of the glass will be under the lip of the seal at the top.

Thanks. I will check the Manual. As my pictures indicate, I think my windows might be raising a wee-bit too high Now I just need to adjust them. Thanks again.
Jamie

Here is it pushing on the window.

You need to take the door panels off and lower the windows. The glass should tuck into the rubber grove.

Okay, off with the panels once it warms above -20C (it's -30C here now, and too darn cold even with the 4800 W garage heater, can you say high electricity bill?). If I lower the windows to near where they should be, the doors close nicely, the window sits in the groove and against the door (B pillar?) seal very well. Thanks everyone.

You should be able to simulate, by rolling the window down to where it should be. The side rubber strips on the targa top can be lowered or raised as well.

Yes it does work very well ) I am quite pleased to see how well they fit into the groove and rest on the Targa bar seal when I just roll them down to where they should be.
