Targa bikini top?
I once saw a "bikini" top for a targa. It was only for use while parked, not for road driving. The purpose was obviously to cover the car and not have to install the targa top every time you park.
Has anyone seen one of these and know where to get one? Your answers are appreciated. |

I think it is called a "Carbrella", and may be for sale by our host. About $50 or so, as I recall.
Warnings: 1. A medium gust of wind will blow it right off the car while you are gone, it is only held by 4 vertical suction cups to the windows. 2. I had one stolen in Santa Clara, CA one day while I was in a restaurant having lunch. Came out & it was GONE! REF: Carbrella?

Thanks, the Carbrella is exactly what I saw before. I'm not worried about theft where I park and I think I'll try this. I'd like a tonneau cover like the cabs have, but I can't find one for a targa. |

The Carbrella looks like it would be perfect for my needs. I would like something to keep the UV rays off my leather sports seats.
I have an 87 Targa and hate folding up my top to stow in the front trunk. It really thrashes an older top. I typically leave it assembled and stow my TT behind the seats. However, with the price of an NOS Targa top at over $14,000 from Pelican Parts, I would hate to have it stolen. I wonder what my insurance company would think of a claim like that? Mike |

The agreed value of my Carrera is $16,000. I just checked the PP Web Site and the current price for a 1984-89 Targa Top is $20,008.00!!!!!!! Mother Father! Me thinks my Targa may be worth a boatload down the road. Mike |

I found one under the front bonnet when I purchased my Targa - it works great to cover up quick when running into a store or in your driveway. Suction cups on the outer edges secure it to the side windows so it doesn't blow away ...
I really like the convenience,

I believe you meant $1400 not $14,000, at least I hope I'm correct.

No, he did NOT mean $1400......but a finely rebuilt original can be had for a LOT less anyway. Lar
