what do you see here: coupe or cab?
Er, with all due apologies to those back east and in cold climes, I thought I'd post my first pix here of a true survivor - a 1967 911 Normal. I'm the third owner, and until now the car has not been in 'picturable' shape. After a couple years of inattention, I've finally dug in and am working to get her back on the road. I have very much appreciated all the help this board has given me.....and I have been remiss in posting pix of the ride to date. Well No More, see below!
To date, I've removed the heat exchangers in order to get to the oil scavenger hose which was leaking a ton of oil - that line and the oil cooler to oil tank lines have been replaced. Also, removed the gas tank and replaced the leaking fuel line(s). She's still running a bit rough, might need a new clutch, and I'm doing the clutch cable, plugs, plug wires, dist cap and rotor next. OH, coupe or cab? Well, BOTH actually, those are Atlas Peak AVA Cabernet Sauvignon in the background. My winter garage? uh, its the carport on the side of the house, across the drive from the sleeping grapevines. When we release our Cabernet, we'll offer 10% off to all Pelicaneers! Cheers, and Happy New Year Tom ![]() ![]() |

Thanks guys...
no pigs up here....but we have bear, couger, turkeys, quail, and our lakes are filled with over 30 wood ducks! Very pleasant place to work on a Porsche....except that you can't see very much from underneath it! If I need to drop the engine to do the clutch, maybe I could coax some of you neighbor types to drive up our twisty mountain road to help? I'll supply the lunch, and the cabernet, for the event!! Even the SO's might like this trip.....they can walk in the vineyards while we toil with the Porsche, and the cabernet corks. cheers td |

hi all.....and thanks for the response scargo69s....
our cab will be released sometime after we bottle in june 09, our 07 is in barrels at present. I'm thinking early autumn timeframe? Kind of depends on how it takes to the bottle and how quickly it settles down after bottling. We are thinking in time for thanksgiving, for sure! Unfortunately, we don't have any here for tasting at present, it is in the cave at our winemaker's.... But let's keep in touch, if I'm doing a run up to the cave, I'll let you know and we can coordinate a porsche / wine day for some barrel tasting? talksoon tom |
