exhaust ?

My 85' targa has headers and a sport exhaust. Two in Two out. What I was interested in doing(louder at the track weight/airflow) was remove the muffler and bolt up straight pipes(looks like it wouldn't be very long pipes) to the triangular header that bolts up to the sport exhaust pipe. I figure it would save weight and add some rumble. Is it as simple as unbolting the 2 sets of 3 bolts that connect the header pipe to the sport exhaust and bolting on two race pipes like are sold here on pelicans site? Seems simple. I would just need to create a bracket to hold the pipe and some heat tape on the bottom of the bumper. Thoughts???

You will need some kind of bracket to support the straight pipes or you will damage the pipes or the headers but it is not that difficult to make the bracket and it could be quick to mount / dismount if done right.
