Is there a torque spec for valve adjustment nuts?

I can't find anything in my books or in a search. Is "firm, but not gorilla" the way to go? Seems like they were tight as a baby's ass before.

Full chimpanzee.

Equals about 1/2 gorilla.

I'd guess maybe about 20 lbs/ft.

That's the description I'm looking for, thanks Steve.

no 8mm nut needs to go over 18ftlb. and that's still too tight for a rocker nut. it can distort the threads. no way to use a torque wrench on them either as you need to hold the screw as the nut is tightened. so firmly, but not gorilla style.

you gotta have a feel for it, unless you have 3 arms, you can't use a torque wrench on it
