Interesting Targa on CL

http://newyork.craigslist.org/mnh/ctd/1006221067.html

Being a Targa man, I found this one pretty interesting. Has anyone else come across this one?

This targa and the white and blue RS seen in the background have been for sale for some time.

If that is a factory hard top . . . it is worth every penny.

I'm sitting here going "you guys think he's DREAMING for an MFI early car that is this tasty and he only wants $19,800????"

Then I re-read the price. Holy Cow!

I wonder if I could get that much for my Targa. . . of course I'd have to clean out all the legos, "I can read" books, etc.

I'll probably will hold on to it; too much fun dropping kids at school.

Hey guys

This car was $250,000 in the summer - that's a big price drop. A few guys who have seen it say it's very nice. The early S crowd have discussed the car at length:

I love the look - my 73 hot rod may end the year looking very much like that car - but I'll still only be a fraction of his asking price

After reading about the car I always wondered what it was like. I see it had RS flares but no sport seats. That compressor has probably beat the chain cover to death. Donahue was upset because penske gave the car to his wife and he was jealous. I don't think it's worth more than a 5% premium over a normal 72 E Targa just because it belonged to Penske. What sort of a premium did Steve McQueen's cars get?

With all due respect: One can ask for whatever they want, value is determined by what someone will pay.

AND, I love my Targa, BUT, I can't see a Targa bringing this kind of money.

AND, When you're in this league, I'm not sure that Craigslist is your best marketing tool?
