Fuchs; are those 8s or 9s?

Does anyone know what width the rear rims on the white targa are? I have read a lot on these forums that 9s look too wide for a street car. I am/was interested in 9s for my 83 targa, and love the stance of above mentioned white targa. If anyone has links for pictures of 9s and 8s on the rear of 80s 911s (so I can compare the "look" of them) I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

9's look just about identical to 8's, because the width difference is split, side to side. The easy way to tell is by looking at the lug nuts -- they're countersunk deeper on the 9's because they have backspacing to move the wheel in further.

But 8's and 9's generally look pretty much the same and usually mean running the same width tires, as well.

My guess are that those are 8's with spacers. I run the same setup with 1" spacers.

I didn't realize the difference was split. That would make them look very similar indeed. Chris your car looks very nice. You have put 7s on the front yes? That is my plan, 8s/9s on the rear and 7s on the front. The car is off to my body magician to have a couple of spots cleaned up and I would like to find some nice rims before spring comes so it hits the road looking as nice as it runs.

When in doubt pull the wheel and look at the stamping on the inside of the wheel.....

Scott, are those wheels 15's?

This is my car on 951 8's and 930 9's. Underneath the RSA cammo it is a standard flare carrera body

Yes, they're 15's.

My wife said she thought they were ugly the other day. =:>(

Here's my '81 that I sold last summer with 951 7's and 8's.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1232771815.jpg

I needed them to fit over my Brembos.

This is the set that went with the car shod w/street tires (Toyo proxies).

I also have an identical set shod with track tires (Yoko A032R's) that didn't go with the car - like to sell one day to someone who needs both 7's and 8's with these tires already on them. :D
