I'm looking for a middie. On this site, it looks like there was once a site specifically for those cars. Is it still around?

IIRC, mid9.net was the brainchild of Donny, a.k.a 75Carrera on Pelican.

The site was neglected for a while, and then the hosting lapsed.

You are correct. We were going to try to work with him on the site, but everyone got really busy. Have not heard from Donny in a while.
