Rust pinholes on 86 oil tank
After removing all paint from my oil tank I revealed two small areas (just a couple of centimeters each) of pinholes (some 15 in total). I'm a bit concerned about sanding too much metal away but at the same time I don't like the idea of covering it up either. Would mediablasting be the only re-assuring option ? Tx for your insight.

Sorry I don't have an answer, but I am interested - care to show a pic or indicate their location?
Are they on the engine compartment side or elsewhere? (Mine always seems to be coated with a fine layer, thus preventing oxidation). Thanks.

you might be able to braze the pin holes up, but with all the 911 s over the years I would be incline just to get another oil tank and be done. My .02 worth of thoughts. Jim

My concern would be how did the moisture develop in the oil to allow the rust to develop into pin-holes.
