Friday's 959 Blog Posting: 959 in for service at Callas Rennsport...

Here are some photos that I took over a several week period of a regular Callas Rennsport car. This particular car was in for some work, most of which I cannot remember, but the main thing that was wrong with it was that it had a leaky valve cover. Well, new valve covers (magnesium) are $2600, I think. Ouch.

I don't remember exactly how, but the Callas guys saved the day and got the car back on the road and running in time for the August Quail gathering of 959s!

The suspension is all screwed up on it right now because the nitrogen canisters are shot. I need to get these renewed / replaced, and then the car will be 1000% more enjoyable to drive. I'm going to start on this project in the next few weeks (after we get the Boxster sorted out).

Yes, that's how the water pumps are driven.

Thanks for posting this stuff Wayne.

It has helped remove some of the mystery and legend of the 959... Somehow the car never seemed quite real to me.

It was always that Uber rare unattainable thing that existed but somewhere other than planet Earth.

Does that make any sense?...lol
