Oil tank level sender orientation, gasket ??, etc.
Like a dumba$$, forgot to mark the orientation of the oil tank level sender... do the relay electrical tabs go to the 4oclock postion, with 'made in germany' to the left of the stud at the top?
![]() Also, do i use any gasket sealant on the cork gasket upoon re-install? Finally, i flushed the $hit out of the tank with gasoline and break cleaner after soda blasting it and before powdercoating. Do you guys do a final 'rinse' with anything before 'buttoning up'. The last thing i want is for a grain of grit or something to get flushed into my gazillion dollar rebuild on start-up.

I just did this yesterday. The bolts are oriented so it only goes on one way.

part of being a good engineer is to think forward and look out for the people who don't document everything in advance
BTW - they also designed in a special "oversteer controller" it's called the steering wheel |

Save yourself some frustration by practicing this awkward task on a piece of cardboard before trying it on the car. Make the hole in the cardboard the same size as that in the tank. You can then figure out the motion needed to guide the sender thru the hole and into the tank.
