Oil cooler in whaletail?
After lots of research here and other places on the net (thanks!) I finally drove an 87 911 targa that I might purchase. It had a factory(?) rear spoiler with the oil cooler in it. I can't find any info about this - is it a factory option? Does it work well? Thanks, Eric

Factory never put an oil cooler in the tail in any year I don't think, definately not the 87's. Sure it's not the AC condenser?

Oh... it probably is the AC condenser. The owner said it was the oil cooler, but I guess he could be wrong.
This car had a heavy clutch so it probably will need the needle bearing update. Any idea how much a new clutch with the update is going to cost me? |

- Assume you know that the Carerra's external oil cooler is located in the forward portion of the right front wheel well. The 87s have a thermostaticly contolled fan that's mounted on the forward side of the cooler - difficult to see. - Chuck |

Yes, I thought the cooler was in the front wheelwell, but since the owner said the condenser was an oil cooler I thought maybe it was some sort of aftermarket item. He's wrong.
Doesn't look like I'll get that one, he's asking too much and it's a little rough in a lot of places. Still looking and learning... |
