best touring tires 1984 carrera coupe

Just bought a car with worn out tires. I am my sixty's know and dont care about knocking another .2 secs off by lap time. I am driving open highway and some twisty's but not much and would like a all season premium tire. I want the best tire and most comfortable ride for the car I have. $$ is not an object, please give me your opinion, thank you JL

I'm very happy with Bridgestone Potenza RE760's.

Here are some stong candidates that come in original sizes. Don't think you could go wrong with the Michelins or Bridgestones. Check out the test results and try to use a tire shop with lug centric balancing especially with Fuchs.

I think you will like Yokohama S.Drive, I am on my second time with them, and I really like the way they ride and handle. And they look great on the SC. Good choice.

I've set my car ('82 coupe) up for touring. Just got a set of Yokohama S. Drives and put 300 miles on them today. Nice tire, I think, as a compromise between performance, wear, & ride quality. About $540 inc. tax & tip & mount & balance.

Some tires do ride nicer than others. However, the biggest thing you can do for ride comfort is drop down to a 15" wheel size. I know that's the answer you were looking for.

Its a sports car, not a limo,, so performance is always on my mind when buying tires, but I go for performance of the tire //value for the money I pay, so I use Sumitomos on my Cup 1 (17") (HTRZii), I like them. not the least expensive, but not a pricy tire.
