Mark,
Per the '87 Stoddard catalog, those are Solex cams, used before the milder cams were incorporated for use with the tuned, equal-length '67 911S heat exchangers on the 'normal' 911 engine. They are the later production, non-cross-drilled version, for use with spray-bar lubrication. ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |

Thanks Warren, You have helped me again. Thanks!
So these are Solex cams, I'm building a 2.7 and I've read all of BA's cam recommendations, T vs E vs S top end, low end drivability around town etc. I have these Solex cams and a set of '73 S cams. Which cams will give me more performance. I know that they both will be dogs at low rpms, but they will work nicely at 4500 and above and that is were I drive. The pistons I am using are 2.7 nikasil RS. And the valves are 46 and 40mm. |
