Rear torsion bar removal

I am having trouble removing the torsion bars on my 79 sc. I have all the bolts removed from the spring plate and removed the four bolts and torsion bar cover. Should the remaining spring plate and rubber bushing behind the cover all come off in one assembly? Any advice from hear would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Bill

Yes, it all comes out in one piece. You might have to pry it. What you don't want is the bar coming out as well. You need to use a large drift to knock the bar out of the plate if it wants to stick. There is a metal seal at the end to access the end of the bar. Then the bar slips thru the hole in the body.

Sometimes the bars get stuck in the torsion tube. If that happens, get back to us, we have methods.

Alright I got the outer plates off. Now the bar bars are stuck in the tubes? Any tricks for knocking them loose?

I replied to your other (new) thread.
In the future, if you can keep the topic in one thread, we can recommend it for the PelicanWiki
