spark plug gap

does anyone know the right gap on a 77 911s targa with a 2.7 engine i am using ngk plugs , i got the thinging running now atleast. But i still have a little miss, i changed the plugs, points, rotor and cap the wires look new so i didnt replace them. I dont know how long the cars been sitting so i put acouple cans of sea form in the tanks to clean the system out plus replaced the fuel system, i installed the plugs right out of the box cause i couldnt find the right gap in my manual for the ngk plugs, also i set the points at 14 thanks for any info

Looks don't count when it comes to ignition cables. Spray some water on them at idle and then see what you think.

If they short out, they're junk.

Or watch them in the dark with the engine running.

i use the stock out of the box gaps on my ngks. Doubt this is the source of a miss problem.

Plug Gap: 0.55mm/0.022in
You don't always get a straight answer here.:D

You didn't ask, but after gapping your plugs with a proper gauge, be careful when you insert them in the motor. It very easy to "bonk" them on the way to the hole, effectively closing the gap.

If you set the points to "14," a dwell tach would be a great tool to set them more accurately.

All good advice on the plug wires.

Sometimes it's not one specific thing that makes a motor "miss." It's a combo of several small things.
