1995 993 DME - Drive Block or Not?
I've heard some of the 1995 911's used a drive block like the later variorams. Does anyone know if this is indeed true? I'm looking to get a 1995 dme (and rechip it with Steve Wong's help) to power my race car.
The one I'm looking at has a part number of 993.618.115.00. Is there any way to tell if this 1995 dme has the drive block? Thanks- Craig Backer |
That's the Tiptronic control module. Common mistake as it is mounted next to the Motronic DME under the seat. The DME you want says Motronic on it. For the 94-95 993s, common non drive block DMEs are 993.618.123.xx where xx is 01, 02, or 03. The .123 in the sequence is non-driveblock. Common drive block DMEs are 993.618.124.xx, with the .124 in the sequence being the designating factor.
