cat bypass installation
Hello group:
I have 2 questions pertaining to my cat bypass installation project 1). Do I treat my new gaskets (3 of them) with anything or do I install "dry" 2). Do I treat the oxygen sensor threads with antisieze or not? thanks in advance, Bill |
Dry on the gaskets - can't comment on the O2 (have non-O2 '78).
I ran the car over to an independent muffler guy and had him saw/burn all old nuts & bolts off, replacing each with new. Simple matter to drive home and remove cat. and bolt in the bypass. Be sure to check all joints using a tube to your ear - be mindful of any hissing at each joint. |
dry and don't get any stuff on the business end of the O2... I think I put some antisieze on mine but very carefull not to get it on the end and not put on the first 2 or so threads and don't apply excess
