Hi I want to mount an oil cooler and oil tank in the front trunk.
Normally there are 2 separate oil circuits when you have the tank in the stock location back by the engine, one line leaves the engine and goes to the front cooler and back, the other goes to the tank and back I am using an12 lines. do i need to run 4 lines to the front or is there a way to route them in series with 2 lines- like from engine, to front cooler, to front oil tank to back to engine? |

Its a simple install
Smart Racing sells a ready to go dry sump tank that fits in the smugglers box. It has intake, exit, and breather hose connections. Recommended running of the hoses would be from the outlet of the motor forward , thru a thermostat, then the cooler, then from the cooler into the intake line of the tank. From the bottom fitting on the tank it goes back to the thermostat, then from there to the suction line on the bottom of the engine oil cooler. The breather line should run high in the car , from the top of the motor, follow the curvature of the roof line on the passenger side, then to the top of the tank in the trunk. The return line from the front mounted tank should be installed as low as possible so the pump in the motor does not have to work hard. We recommend the install of at least the 4 rib oil pump in the engine to cope with the extra load
