Case oil breather line restrictor?

Hi all,

I have a 1992 3.6 in an SC Chassis,, and am in the final stages of putting the car back together.

Specifically, does the breather hose that runs from the top of the engine to the oil tank (fitting beside the filter) have a restrictor in it from the factory? The current line has a restricting piece with an approx 3/16" hole in the centre.

I have just run the the car at some revs in the garage without the restrictor in the case breather line, and it started blowing oil out of the oil tank breather hole. It now shows as being signficantly overfilled on the dip stick. This seems very odd to me - I will check the oil level again when it cools down.

Any advice appreciated before I refit the restrictor piece.
