Rear seat belt question

Does anyone know if a set of rear 3-point seat belts from a 964 or 993 will bolt into a 80's carerra that has the factory mountings in place?

I'm not having much luck finding an OEM or replacement set for a carerra, I have a WTB ad in the Used Parts forum already...

Thanks!

I don't know about the 964 or 993 equivalent, but I found a set at

http://www.ladismantler.com/

When I got mine last August, they had a few on hand.

I wrote a quick article on the install on my blog site (noted below my signature)

Thanks Todd, would you mind telling me what you paid (by PM if you prefer)? I found a pair at another dismantler yesterday and they asked for $350 which I politely declined to pay at this stage of my search...

If you want to try very low budget.... I bought old shoulder belts from the rear of a BMW E30 on ebay for $10. The buckles fit into the old lap belt latches. I am not sure if the mount is the same. My car is an '82 so no mounting points, so I used a mounting plate made by Autoloc.

The reinforcing mounting plate was an anchor plate by autoloc (the shoulder belt was from an old BMW). Look up on ebay "autoloc anchor." I drilled a hole in rear deck and put the reinforcement anchors in from the engine compartment.

LFogelson,

Thanks I've spotted them on Ebay, I will also have a look at the e30 rear belts too....seems very do-able. Must admit the rear shelf of a early porsche seems so sheet-metal thin, only visualising the scenario of the pull stresses on the rear shelf and subsequent rear passenger safety upon (god forbid) front-end impact.

Zef,

Have you got a link to the image of your 964 installation? Has its got retractable shoulder belts.

Cheers, Jaz

911finally,

Sorry for the late reply. I paid $250 for my set. Not cheap, but cheaper than your $350 deal.

Most of the salvage yards will bargain a bit with you also, so don't hesitate to make a lower offer.
