How did Porsche hook up TTG Hella 118 lites?

How did Porsche connect the wires from the headlight wiring harness to the Hella 118 TTG foglight? I'm adding foglights and the existing harness up inside the fender has the 2 wires that go to the foglight - a white/grn to connect to the lamp and a brown wire to connect to the ground or body. Do both of these wires go thru the grommet into the light and connect inside, or does only 1 wire go into the light and the ground wire is connected over the big bolt that attaches to the bracket? Or was there some other way? Thanks in advance, Gary

I have a fog switch on the dash next to the lighter and rear window defog switch.

You should be using relays for your headlights so another relay install for the fogs is no big deal.

The wires you have might be for the fogs? Put a volt meter to them and see what happens.

I understand how all the circuitry is wired. I added the foglight harness, switch and relay and connected it to the fusebox according to the wiring diagram. What I'm looking for is how the ground (brown) and 'hot' (white/green) wires are actually connected to the light. Are both connections made inside the light's housing or is the ground connection made outside? Thanks, Gary

I don't remember hard info from when I disconnected my stock fog lights. Grounds for lights usually get connected to the tub. If you go this route use some dielectric grease to keep the connection clean.

What specifically do 118 look like? Post a picture.

for anyone else finding this thread in search

I found info on a different Hella driving light porsche part number 644.631.201.04

the 1970 article "Installation of Hella driving lights on 900 series" by Stan Simm

he writes "Install wire in screw terminal of forward [lens] part of each light."
