Well, for those of you who have followed my 911SC saga, my car is now home after spending 6 weeks in the shop for an airbox and wiring harness replacement!
It took quite some time to track down the various wiring harnesses, and coupled with the fact that the car was basically stripped (engine and transmission, interior, fresh air system, etc. all had to come out), it was quite an undertaking. While everything was out of the car, I took the time to get the engine detailed. I had lots of stuff powdercoated, painted the shroud and intake runners, and cleaned the heck out of the engine. With all new CIS rubber, the engine compartment looks fabulous. Hopefully I can get some pictures soon. Right now, the car is running beautifully! I had a new clutch installed while the engine was out, and what a huge difference it made! I think everything will have to be dialed in one more time, and then I'll be ready to go. I also have to address the emergency brake light, which doesn't go out, but that's a small task. I'd like to personally thank everyone who has helped me through this whole process, which began when I was trying to troubleshoot my CIS system. While the cost of all this has kept me awake at night, it's reassuring to know that we all have a common interest, and somewhere to look for guidance and direction. Thanks again everyone!!! One thing is for sure, I received the "thrown into the fire" version of learning about my car, so hopefully I can pay everyone back with future contributions of my own to the BBS! I think I may go out for lunch today!! ![]() ------------------ Michael '78 911SC Euro |

Glad you got your car back and everything is working ok. I did something similar, detailing the motor of my 81 911. But when I got everything back together. The emergency brake light would not go out. I am still stumped as to why this. when you figure this out tell me.

On the brake light issue. I assume you mean the dash light. If so... have you tried pulling the clock out of the dash. Reach in and find the wires to the light. Unplug it and count to 30. Plug it back in and see if it has gone out. Let me know if this works.

Haven't tried that trick, but I'm head'in out to the garage right now! Hopefully I'll be able to get these 24" pythons through the clock opening....
