Need Advice on Trailering

I need to open trailer my Porsche 8 hrs on the highway. Is it better to have a cover on or leave it off? Worried about the cover rubbing and the rocks with no cover. Thanks

Have to assume that you are not going to a DE. Otherwise use whatever protection you are going to use on the track.
I have never had any noticable damage during the last 24yrs. towing to track events from east coast to: Canada, Ohio, Florida and parts in between on an open trailer with good fenders. I never towed up the Alcan or with a monster truck I imagine there would be many more rocks thrown in those cases.

What they said. If you are worried about the car, get an enclosed trailer. Only covers that are made for hauling (boats, semis etc.) stay on. Note how many straps those have to achive a good tight fit. A car cover that is made for garage storage will flop all over the place.
