Just bought M&K 2in 2out and SSI's

I just bought M&K 2in 2out and SSI's. What amount of HP will this add to my 79 3.0 911SC? Just looking for a range not exact. If there are Dyno results then great.

Thanks.

dunno about hp but if the MK sounds anything like my homemade 2out you need to go find a tunnel to drive through as soon as you get it installed.

I believe we all make mistakes but I will not validate your poor choices and/or perversions and subsidize the results your actions.

I've never seen anyone post anything about power on MK mufflers. I've asked the question, but no data has been brought forth. My guess is there are better options for power in the muffler category, but it's hard to argue the price and the fact they bolt right up.

Go to www.911chips.com and read through the dyno data. You should get close.

steve wong has a bunch of dyno charts of my exhausts and different builds. Ihave seen several dyno charts posted in the last 6 months . I will search as I need to get them loaded to my new website anyhow,

I put the same setup on my 87 3.2 Carrera (I also added a Wong chip) and the first thing I noticed when I started up the car was the throttle response. Much, much better. I don't know about actual power, but the engine "woke up" and was much livlier. The second thing you'll notice (actually, it will be the FIRST thing!) is the sound. Orgasmic is an understatement. You can listen to all the sound clips you want, but until you hear and feel your new exhaust you just don't know what you're in for. Expect your first test drive to be 1 hour+. Also, expect to tweak your idle and mixture settings slightly. I can tell you how to do it on an '87, but I'm not sure on a '79.

Good luck and post your first impressions!

there should be a noticeable gain... SSI's are a nice improvement, as is the M&K muffler... both flow much free-er... i don't think we are talking 10+hp, but i'm sure its gotta be close to 10hp....

79 sc has...180 stock? say 5% gain and its 189, but I think that is flywheel-hp..now wheel...so factor in some loss (15%?) and you got 165ish.... but then again how old is the engine? how many km's?

sounds will be very very nice.

In my opinion, the vast majority of the power gain comes from the SSIs, not the muffler. With that said, here are some performance results from a few years back with SSI's and a Dansk.

Performance Test done - SSI vs Stock SC

I will be doing the same insall in a few weeks. MK 2x2 with SSI on an 87, what are the adjustments I will need to make? Can you point me in the right direction?
THanks

I started to type out a lengthy response and realized that I should just point you towards the source of info that I used. It doesn't sound like you're doing a Wong chip at the same time (consider it, you'll like it......), but this is the bible that I used after my install:

http://www.911chips.com/dmeconvr.htm

Good luck!
