I saw that post! I have had paints mixed incorrect before and always get it replaced NC. I had to stand there and argue with the person who mixed it but it was wrong and was replaced. Usually I will take an original part in like the inside of the gas door that has never been painted and check the mixed product on the spot.

A little knowledge to make you dangerous when confronting the store... When the paint is mixed there is a formula. Like 1,700 grams of white, 35 grams of red oxide, 400 grams of a brown, maybe a bit of black 2 or 3 grams. Lets say the guy mixing put in 500 grams of brown. That would throw off the color. Especially a light color like yours. It doesn't take much to throw off a light color. Tell them you know how the paint is made and you understand mistakes are made, (it's easy to mix wrong, phone ringing, talking, leaving the bench to take a customer, etc.). Personally I wouldn't let them tint the paint. For that money??!!!! You want a new gallon of paint. Have them check with a colorimeter. They can measure the color numerically. Good luck. Post how you made out.

I know i spent top dollar for the paint.. Normally id put effort into lowering the price but I figured rather than screw around Id just eat the $200 I might save and save time.. that being said Im glad I bought it local and not online!!
I bet they fix me up monday.. I'll report back.. I really doubt they'll give me new paint and I dont see the point in it.. wouldnt I have the same quality? I mean all they do is add toner to it right? I am scared now that three quarts wont be enough but I bet I end up with a gallon when they add the stuff to fix it! ![]()

for that ridiculous price i would demand that it match. since you showed the paint mixer what color you wanted that is what you should get. i mean if it was 75.00 or something like that it's no big deal but 800.00 you should get exactly what you expected. i had an experience with a paint mixer at lowes for deck paint and he mixed it wrong and tried to tell me to my face it was right, all along it was way off. sometimes these guys have attitudes. don't feel as though your wrong. you should be pissed.

Mark is helping me out.. Im going to do some investigation.. calling BASF in the morning to get the codes and ask some questions.. One thing neither one of know is what would happen if I added the clear hardener.. but since there just is no yellow in this paint I dont see anything happening.. its just not close.. Mark will take the codes and let me know if its even in the ballpark.. but he thinks its WAY off and so do I.. I took it down to bare metal so there's nothing left to look at unfortunately.. On that note: if anyone has a sand beige car please let me know.. Id like to ask for some help.. I tried finding someone locally on here a few months ago and no one is around here.. I double checked my placard and its 6807-g which means it was glasurit from the factory.. something is wrong.. I'll get it.. just gonna take some time.. Mark said the paint would have cost about the same in PPG roughly.. but the real difference here is glasurit uses 2:1 where ppg is 4:1.. so the high cost is in the hardener! Notice I have 2 qts.. which means I shoulda just bought a gallon.. which is what Im gonna do.. Oh the joy... blood pressure up today! ![]()

I bought 3 quarts of PPG Global ($450.00) to paint my targa, it was the wrong shade. The paint store remixed 3 more quarts the right shade, no charge. Stand your ground and make them mix the paint correctly. Some kid mixed the paint originally, got the owner to do it the second time correctly. I brought in my flag mirror to match, forgot about the fuel door..

Yes.
It was remixed and is the exact same color. Im sending a sample to a dealer who has a survivor car to see what they think.
