Cab window seal?

need a little help guys ... and the search did not reveal a lot of helpful tips.

i have on several occasions found small fluffy bits in my car. originally i suspected the carpet, but now i've found a piece of fluffy stuff wedged between the window outside and the squeegee - so i guess it is the felt brush.

anyone had that? how do i replace the brush? do i need to take out the window to get to the seal?

cheers & thanks fro your help

Any chance you have a dead koala in the door?

You will be able to replace it without removing the window. Roll it all the way down and it will shift enough. I just did mine not to long ago. Buy the replacement and you will see how it is attached. Hardest part is getting the old piece out. Patience and a long small screwdriver and you can pry it out.

Thanks guys. Will be looking for that koala, too.

one more thing ....
before i screw up anything: i understand i can replace the felt seal with the window & the door panle in place; i wind down the window as far as possible, then pry out the squeegee and then i should understand be able to get out the old seal and replace it with the new on (bloody expensive for 133 bucks btw).

so is there any trick to that? is there a good way to getting the squeegee out without breaking or scratching anything?

cheers and thanks for your help.

Use a screw driver to pop off the outter rubber squeegy they just snap in then use the screw driver to unsnap the felt pad.
With the squeegy removed, it will allow the window to move over to allow you to unsnap the felt. Start from the rear. as you move forward. rotate the felt up and it will be easier to remove the last remain snap.

Just take caution not to scratch the paint.

Good you discovered that. if the felt wears through the metal clamps/pins will wear through and start scratching the glass. Ask me how I know.
