weak system pressure on SC

My SC has been running a little poor when warm. OK when hot and cold.

So, I hooked up a fuel pressure gauge kit between the Fuel pressure distribution unit and the WUR. Turned the key on, bypass the fuel pump relay, and the pump comes on, runs for about 30 seconds and the best i get is 50 PSI. 20 PSI shy of ideal.

What would you do in order of least expensive things first ??

Did you shut off the feed to the WUR when you ran the test, it's not clear from your post.

Yelcab1,

I was looking for a certain post and came across yours. When your system pressure is this low (50 psi), there are two (2) things I would do:

1). Check the FP delivery pressure (max) and volume (optional). A value of 65 to 70 psi means FP is up to spec. and will deliver sufficient volume of fuel.

2). Check fuel distributor (FD) regulator. Check this only if you the FP passed the test and still have a low system pressure. Be very careful not to lose the tiny components.

Keep us posted.

Tony

never underestimate the value of a clear fuel filter
