Why I love my SC

This is a big KUDO to the engineers that designed and the workers that built my beautiful Ruby Red SC cabriolet. As some of you know, my car has sat under a tarp in Rapid City, SD since Thanksgiving, thanks to a run in with a construction pylon that bent my driver's side strut housing.

So today, I was really missing her bad and call up my father in law. I ask him about the weather and he says it has been fairly nice out there recently. I ask him to pull the tarp and fire the beast up. He tells me he will do it when we gets home.

A few hours later, I get as call on my cell phone... it is my father in law. Now he is a Porsche guy himself, but he could not control the surprise in his voice. He tells me she started right up with no hesitation. I jokingly tell him I am sorry about killing all of his mosquitos... He then replies that she did not even puff smoke. Now I am even surprised from the 3 months of sitting she has had to endure out there. Dang, I really miss her now. I told him it was a good thing she has a bum foot, or his wife would have been mad at him when he got back from his drive several hours later! Hope my work schedule let's up enough soon to go retrieve the girl... (sigh)

She is lucky to have a caring owner like you.

Wait till you start her yourself. The silly grins going to be hard to wipe off.

I have had earlier Porsches. '66 912 that I bought in 1968 (m y bride of one year thought I was nuts), '72 T. 74 911, '77 911S. Lately I've had a 997 GT3 and a Cayman S. Currently a '09 Carrera S is in the garage BUT it shares time with the '83 SC and the more I work on, clean and generally improve the Sc the more I know it is a keeper to be passed down to my son. Trips in the Carrea S are great. Outstanding performance, great handling, very comfortable and excellent mileage BUT each time i drive the SC I feel young again and re-live my earlier Porsches. I was so lucky to find her and so fortunate to have Jones Autowerks to do the things I can't to keep her running great. Thanks Bob, Kevin, Tom and Cathy and special thanks to my bride of now 42 years that understands what a Porsche nut is and still loves me.
