Decklid ground straps???

I'm swapping the OEM decklid on my '88 Carrera for a 3.0 Carrera tail (galvanized steel base, f/g top). There are 2 of what appear to be ground straps between the hinge mouting bolts and the tub. Can I delete these, or do they serve some purpose, like suppressing radio interference?

Don't need 'em. They are radio interference devices for European standards. Will not affect your radio what-so-ever.

no no no, they DO keep you more grounded, especialy at speed, it's more an aerodynamic feature feeding more down ground force to the tail and air into your airbox.

If you twist them once it give you more torque, if they lay flat it's more a high RPM kinda thing.

Someone put them on a flow bench once, check "off-topic" and do a search........grins.

LOL

If you have an all FG tail I might keep them... for a steel base I got rid of mine.
