Fuchs Wheel Refinishers Out there

I was looking to get some 15x6 Deep six Fuchs professionally refinished with the proper anodizing and original look. I have heard of Weidman wheels that does this and believe they have a good reputation.

Are there other recommended refinishers out there that any of you have either good or bad experiences with? Also, any idea on the costs from these folks?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Jeff

If you are going for an authentic concourse weenie look, go with weidman. If you want beautiful wheels, go with Al reed.

Al Reed, Harvey is good too but Al Reed's wheels are just plain awesome. DO a search and you will find examples of both!

For anything other than polished Harvey Weidman is the best. It does not have to be concours to be correct.

If you are not in So Cal then the biggest advantage Al has is moot.

I am not saying that Al does not do good work, I just feel Harvey does it better.

Pic.......... Al Reed one year old. Car mostly sat around or I would be routinely treating them. These haven't been touched.

I wonder what he uses.. if anything ???????????????

I bring this up because living on a sandbar necessitates maintenance. I have every polish and sealer out there. The Zoop Seal hasn't been opened yet but otherwise every dam one I've used lasts only 4-6 weeks. These wheels caught my attention.

Al presents a good product that's good enough for me. Seems a different black paint than Wheel Enhancement? WE paint lasted great for over 8 years. Hope this same.

Anyway......... Al Reed put plenty of time into geting me set up with 4 951 7"x16 944 turbo wheels. I thought so much of his act after dealing with my bs that I didn't want another tire installer to touch them. Tire Rack sent him 4 Bridgestones 205x55x16 050A Pilot Sport. It cost me more but my 911 neurosis is happy.

More pics if anyone want... but just an eyeball now of what's going on a narrow body with 930 brakes underneath my street car. Suspension is routine Euro, rolled benders, modest allignment, And no rubbing so far on lousy roads either.

Al Reed is pretty hard to beat. Popping the tires off an shipping UPS ground won't be that much money. Sorry, Al asked me not to quote prices, and that was 5 years ago. I felt like I was cheating him for what he charged then.

There are refinishers in Bath PA [Allentown area] called Wheel Collision. I use Al Reed in CA. He is very quick on the turn around. Weidman is excellent but overbooked. It cost around $100 to refinish a wheel.

These started as chrome. Al Reed tested, stripped and refinished them. $180 per wheel w/o shipping.

Al Reed did my wheels over 3 years ago and they turned out fantastic. Very reasonable prices and quick turn-around time, too!
