Carb Intakes For 3.0 Conversion

What is the proper size for the intakes bores to be Top to bottom. Right now I'm thinking 40mm to 34mm, but I'm not confident this is right. Can you guys help. Thanks.

3.0 engines had two different port sizes. The 78-79 cars had 39mm intake ports. The 80-83 cars had 34mm ports. There is conflicting data on some Euro SC's. There maybe some 80-83 Euro cars with 39mm ports.

I'm thinking I should match port these. Has anyone done this conversion? I faxed PMO, but I don't expect to here from them till sometime next week. I really wanted to get started on these soon.

I suggest you post your exact engine type (930/XX) as stamped in the right side of the case just under fan support. This information will help us provide a correct answer.

Yes, they should be port matched. Yes, carbs will make your car have better throttle response. Yes, carbs will suck more fuel from the tank. Yes, they are fun. Yes, many people have done this conversion.

He does not have time to answer freebie phone calls and chat endlessly to people who are not customers. It is very nice that some will do that on this bbs, but most doctors, lawyers, or business consultants would not do this....

He will call you back promptly. Give him some times to cal on the fax.

I wasn't being snotty, just stating that they don't have a published telephone number and only accept faxes. UNLESS you are an established shop/customer. THEN you qualify for his time....

Quote from the PMO site....
For product support, fax your questions to 310-394-6313 and include your phone number and best time to be called.
