1969 911 Decklid

I'm trying to find a replacement decklid for my 1969 911E. It currently has an incorrect earlier decklid. I've found a 1969 grill (which has three vertical cross-bars, rather than five, as was the case from 1970 through 1973). I am still looking for a good 1969 decklid, which is tough to find since it was a one-year only part. Does anyone know if a 1969 grill fits (well) on the decklids for '70 through '73?

Is your car a show car? I was just wondering if you were interested in its value as being correct for the its year. I have no idea weather the decklids fit or not but do appreciate the longhoods.

That is what I thought as it makes sense, I was wondering about the reference to a 70-73 decklid. Good luck, you are in the right place!

About a year ago, I found a decklid for Evren through EASY...this was for his '71 911E restoration product. The decklid was from a '69 912...Easy wanted $400.
They got $400. Just posting this to give you a price range...

I have a spare 69 deck lid in irish green. The decklid is free of rust but does have some dents near where the letters attach. It can be yours for $300. I will post photos once I return home from a business trip.

Please let me know if you are interested.

Well, the lid is not excellent but better than most. Also, the 69's are rare so I feel it is still worth the $300. There is a bit of rust on the bottom lip but not too bad.

Not to slam, but the one from EASY that I sent to Istanbul was perfect for that $400...letters, plate lights, and latch included. Zero rust. All that was needed was sanding & paint...

Since this lid is not as nice as I thought. The price has been lowered to $150 + shipping.

What is unique about the '69 decklid vs. a '70? I have a '70 and my decklid looks identical to the green one pictured above. Just curious

+1
I thought all deck lids from 69-73 were the same and I have both year cars, though, I admit, I haven't scrutinized the lids for details. Can anyone confirm?

L.J., I thought the same...'69-73 identical with the exception of the aluminum lids that were optional on T's and E's, standard on the S...I forget the year on that one...'71? In '72, steel lids became standard on the S again...

also, thought the same - check p/n's on PET to be sure

a couple, weeks ago, somebody was trying to sell an early deck lid as an "S" deck lid for a huge amount of $$

caveat emptor...

thanks david. i'm a little concerned about the rust on the bottom underside. i think i might keep looking for something a little cleaner.

in answer to the question about the difference between 69 and the 70-73 decklids, the difference is minor, but you can see it in the tabs for screwing down the grill. the 69 grill had only 3 cross bars, whereas the other years have 5, so there are two extra tabs on them.
