What'd you pay to have control arms powder coated?

Did you find a local source or send them out?

Cost to ship?

Cost to powdercoat?

I'm not thinking my control arms with fit in my grill.....

VCI is doing powder coating along with brakes. You might give Doug a call. They are in New Jersey.

Garage
$0

I'd just use some black paint instead. Even if you go crazy and get that Eastwood semi-epoxy stuff it's <$20 for a can, and it will do most of your suspension pieces.

So it chips a little more - touch up is pretty easy and forgiving.

monkey you're right, i can't think of a better material for that purpose (short of powder coating). however in my experience while the function should be great the look is not going to be so hot.

Powder coating is great if you dont use or drive the car, or show car etc. If you drive the car it makes no sense to me, not to just paint them with a por-15 or equal, wheels are another story, and assorted engine parts that powder coating works very well.

Simply it is far less expensive to paint them with a product like POR15, than to powder coat them, and it is a better corrosion inhibitor than powder coating a part that is not visible, unless the the car is shown. Powder coating will and does wear off, unlike a good anti-rust paint.

We do a lot of powdercoating on such suspension parts with excellent results and its far more durable than anything in a spray can. Proper preparation is key to a long-lasting result as well as using the proper paint.

+1 a good powder will give you all kinds of corrosion resistance.
Berreta fan I can probably get them done for next to nothing, (in the business). Send me a pm if interested.

well i talked with the very nice owner of At Speed Motorsport near Annapolis last night and will be getting an alignment one Saturday in March. Shooting for no later than 3/21 so car has about 2 1/2 wks to be ready for that.

Mark i'd love to take you up on your offer but i've got to have everything back by 3/13 so i can use that weekend to put it back together. I'd LOVE powder coating but at this point i guess i'll go POR.

I've had very good results with POR's surface finish provided I prep well and paint carefully.

I just had all this done for $250 but it was done by a guy that owed me a favor. He said it would normally be about $400.

No worries. Offer is still there if you have other small parts and a bigger window.
