Question Popping on deceleration

so this CO post has me worried...I switched my 82SC to the pre 1974 heat exchangers and disconnected the O2 sensor

mechanic said it was okay, but I have not had time to take it in to get the CO mixture adjusted....I know where the idle adjustment screw...can I do a rough approximation?

Where else besides my mechanic can I take the car to get the CO levels measured...my Porsche mechanic is so busy and charges an arm and a leg, but I do not want some retard looking at my car either...

any suggestions???
