25mm rear bars in 77 911

I am rebuilding my rear susp in my 77 911S. I have a set of 25mm torsion bars from a 86 911. Is there any pros or cons to adding these bars, in place of the stock 23 mm bars. My 911
Targa weighs 2680 lb. It has bilstein shocks, mostly stock susp and I want to lower it to euro height, which is not alot, 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch or so. it carries alot of weight in back because it has a 3.0 L motor and a has factory spoilers front and rear(factory rubber whale tail). I am keeping the front torsion bars stock(18.8) and the sway bars are stock also, I believe 20mm front and 18mm rear. Any thoughts on this upgrade? Thanks Jerry

Given the added weight, this is a fine street-only upgrade. It is a better fit for your engine and tail.

No downside at all.

The good/bad/ugly of lowering all depends. You said you will lower .5-.75 inch. But what do you have now?

Chuck, USA height, I really want to lower it to exactly what the row cars are stated in the books, which I believe is about 15 mm in the front lower and about 25 mm in the rear according to the spec book. What I am also looking for is the angle of inclinationn of the spring plates for the ROW cars in 1986 that used the 25 mm bars. Thanks for any help or info. Jerry

there's a t-bar balance

I run 21/27 with good bushings and shocks.

personally I'd think you'd wind up with more oversteer if you only did the rears the 25's

Chuck, isn't there a difference in the T-bars around this era (86) - something to do with the change to the G50 gearbox... I'm sure some of the late T-bars don't fit the early chassis.

Hi, does any one have the angle of inclination of the spring plates for an 86 911 ROW car. They are usually given in the rear susp section of the Porsche spec book. Thanks Jerry
