Back in the saddle

well - after a number of months of looking...I finally jumped in to another Porsche 911 the other day. i think I got a pretty good deal on a pretty good car. It's my 4th Porsche and I don't intend to let this one get away! It's the first time I'm able to have a 911 and it doesn't have to be my daily driver. So if anything goes wrong I can park it and take the time to fix it...with the help of this board...

You've all helped me with my previous Porsches, I'm sure this one will be no different. As a fellow Pelican said to me a couple weeks ago, "These cars get in your blood." ... no doubt!

new to me 1988 targa (cell phone pics in early morning dew...sorry):

my rock star son who simply said, "Nice ride..."

88 Targa
This is my second Targa - I thought I would get a Coupe...but kept getting drawn to the Targas again...then I exclusively was looking for one...

174k on the clock (Yikes!) But she drives great, smooth, and quiet...for the price ($14k), I could do a $5k rebuild and still be under my budget...but for now, I'm just gonna drive!

I agree, that the targas are very easy to live with.

very sharp Targa, and a great year to boot...congrats!!!

FWIW, don't be too hard on the kid...I have a teen that looks like Buckethead. (For those of you who don't know who Buckethead is, he's one of the current crop of Rock Guitar Gods...you can find him on YouTube or Google.)

More Buckethead. He isn't a bad guitarist... Just likes to play with nun-chucks and dance...

Buckethead makes Joe Satriani look like Weird Al Yankovic.

i joke about it because, in the 80's, I played drums in a rock band. My hair was down to my chest and curly.

My parents NEVER told me to get a haircut, however. They supported the band 100%.

Heck, they even came to the biggest show we did at out hometown arena.

Yeah, they looked out of place but they were there.

Share some driving time with him and he will cherish those moments.

That's a great idea - Sometimes he and I have "trust" issues...that might help!
