Post May I take your right Cabriolet door? Thanks.

I won't be long. Do you really need that door, friendly cab owner?
Anyway, now the door can't be gotten. Apparently the Eleven smiths in Stuttgart are frolicking in the dells and there aren't any doors to be found...how about unknown 'weeks' delay!?
After I heard that, I called Porsche myself, and they said they have a superceding part that is in stock, that's retrofitting to 84.
I called the other guy back, got from my wrench the part number he was trying to get but couldn't, and gave it to Porsche, they then confirmed that the new door they DO have in stock is the superceding part and can be used.
993/964 owners...your cab doors like just like and are same dimensions as my 84? This doesn't make sense, haven't he lengths of the cars changed over the years?
Parts for the door that cannot be found:
911 531 00516
Part for the retrofitter:
911 531 00523GRV

If anyone knows anything let me know...I find it hard to believe the Porsche guy is right about these doors retrofitting...

I have an old brochure for the 993 line-up...and there is a page dedicated to how porsche has used the same door for 30 years...and it goes on to say how porsche is not subscribing to new is better...etc...

so I do not see why besides the door handle, mirror attachments and the guts the doors are very similar....

Thanks for the info on that door! That reassures me things are going to work out with the door as my wrench received it yesterday. Great...maybe I will get my car back within 3 weeks!
