Seat back stuck, twisted
The seat back on the passger's side on my '86 Carrera has become stuck, and somewhat twisted. The knob on the side of the seatback that releases it to swing forward will not budge. The seatback itself is now notably twisted. Does anyone know if this is a common problem that has an easy fix, or will the seatback have to be removed and the problem diagnosed?

Are these power seats? If yes, do a google search for BMW seat twist. Common problems on BMUU cars.

I had a similar problem with the seatbase - one of the winding mechanisms had become dislodged at the motor. Pushed it back in, problem solved. Hopefully it is that simple for the seatback as well...
