glove box light help

I have a 1987 Carrera Targa
Does anyone know the correct way to wire the glove box light?
I got my new one, hooked it up like this

black is power
brown is ground (got color from wiring diagram and it is hooked to the light frame so probably correct)
brown and white is probably from the glove box switch
This blows the fuse every time.

IIRC, the wiring looks correct. Does it blow the fuse when it's not inserted into the hole in the dash? In other words, have you tried to see if the light works when it's hanging link in the picture? It should work with the switch, as shown. It looks like the connector for the hot lead (the part on the light) may be bent and it could be allowing the hot to ground to the frame of the dash.

It is the right wiring. My light is now operational.

The hot power wire was touching and grounding to the edge of the dash. I bent the tabs, and made sure the light was in the OFF position. (ON position will blow a fuse when inserting into dash, ask me how I know)
Thanks ossiblue.
