Door Speaker Wiring

My car has had the door speaker wires removed from it. I would like to replace them next week and I was taking a look at where they exit the door. It appears to be at near the top part of the door jam.

I couldn't see where it enters the car though. Is it directly across from where it exits the door? Where does it fish to? Does it come through where the floor vent hose is, or does it make its way to the drunk and under the dash.

Just trying to get an idea before I waste a bunch of time trying to fish wires.

Thanks,

Funny, I just did this, this weekend. I didn't want to drill any holes, so I spent quite a bit of time routing them. My car is a 72 T, so I'll assume they are similar in nature. You have to open the front trunk and remove the cardboard panel (6 Screws) at the firewall that hide the blower motor/ducting system. If you look deep back behind each of the hood hinges on each side, you will see a large access hole thru the inner fender that goes to a much smaller hole, which you will see thru the front door jam area at the rear of the fender. The drivers side is quite a bit more difficult because of the antenna, but still doable. There are several rubber plug/conectors at the firewall that you can route the speaker wires thru to enter the cab/dash area. It's easier to feed the speaker wires from the doors to the dash than vise versa. I had my windshield and my padded dash out at the same time, so I'm sure mine was easier. My car is still apart if you need pics. Hope this helps.

Thanks GS,

This does help. I know the exact area and this shouldn't be to much of an issue.

Thanks for the heads up!
