MSD - 83 SC Question

I have an 83 SC with the PermaTune. Switching it out for the MSD 6200 and Blaster Coil... Which Tach adaptor do I need? 8910 or 8910 EIS?

Thanks in Advance

Brad

Brad-I have an sc also and didn't need a tach adapter. Works fine no problem. Good luck

Also, I recommend you use 8.5 mm Magnocre or equivalent plug wires, and open up the plug gaps per MSD suggestions.

Me too. '82 with permatune that quit. Replaced with 6200 and high-vibration blaster coil. Tach works great as is.

Great. Thanks.

I have the braided stainless beru wires. will they not be able to handle the MDS?

I think it's not whether the Beru wires will handle the MSD as it is that the Beru connectors are terrible. I went to twin MSDs, twin Blasters and 8.5 Magnecor wires, at the suggestion (demand?) of Steve Weiner, also on an '83 SC (twin-plugged, also by Herr Weiner). Didn't need a tach adapter either.

Another cool trick is to use spade connectors (with a bit of dialectic grease) to connect the MSD to the OEM harness connector. No need to splice. No tach adapter needed on my 80SC. Used Magnecor wires, plugs gapped to .045.
