Porsche Crest Hagerty insurance vs Grundy insurance help

I now have

I now have Hagerty insurance 92 Porsche 911/c2 coupe,I understand thier reputation is good on the forums . $ 548.00 agreed value of 25,000 according to some post I have read here. my rate seems a bit high.

so I called Grundy insureance and the quote was 385.00 per yr for the same coverage, both unlimited milage and agreed value. this is quite a differance ,I was wondering if anyone has had dealings with Grundy insurance and we'er you satisfied with thier service.

As times are getting tougher Iam looking to find ways to save money as long as we are talking about apples to apples.
Thanks Rob

I have a few cars with Grundy for several years. I have had a couple of claims and I was pleased with how they were handled.

I'm gonna go on a limb here and guess that it probably doesn't matter as you are not "really" insured... Concours, car events, pleasure drives only ? With a 92? Betcha you are tempted to use to a lot more than that ;-) Anyway, yes, it does sound expensive... I have 2 oldies that cost about the same as your one car put together and I pay $250 or so with hagerty !

Deschodt may well be ot the spot, it is the year and type of coverage not the name of the company as they offer many different coverages. VS "collector car" 30 yrs & older (may be 25 dont remember) must have the "normal" parling spot indoors and have additional car insured as daily driver,
Your pricing sounds like regular insurance.
I have a 66 912, 71 911 targa valued @ 25,000 ea paying like 125 ea a 67 912 targa V@ 15,000 pay like $80. a 76 MGB V@10,000 paying about $75. All with Haggerty

You may well check aroun on carriers but you may be confusing the different coverage.

Regards

Just as KW, I have Hagerty, agreed value of $15,000 and it cost about $230 a year. As with any type of insurance, location plays a part in it.

It may be because the car is newer. My 1984 cab is $350 thru Hagerty but my 1977 Ferrari 308 only $195 with a higher agreed value.

Porsche Crest

I want to thank everyone for responding as Iam signing with Grundy tomorrow
I called hagerty again and they said that location is not an issue as with other insurance co. Rather the year of the car ,rates are lower before 1987. and get higher the newer the car , so I have not heard any negative about Grundy and the agent seem to know what he was talking about.

Iam saving around 165.00 and in the times everything counts.

thankyou, Rob

I have American Classic which allows me to drive the car to work twice a week - for an extra $100 a year (with agreed value). If you go with Haggarty or Grundy and get tagged by another car or do something stupid on the way to work, you are SOL. The extra $100 is worth the sense of security. Just my opinion (but then I have had both Haggarty and Grundy and couldn't live with their restrictions).

I pay $350 a year for my '74 with Hagerty and I'm very happy with them. I've been with them for a few years and made a windshield claim almost 2 years ago and they paid to have it fixed with no problems or delays.

Why do you have a stated value policy on a 964? Just put it through you regular company and they would pay close to that for it.

FWIW, I'm in So. Cal. I just received a bill from Grundy for another year. $27,500 agreed value on my '69 at $209.75.
