Questions onf 1987 Carrera engine parts

When I am in need of information, I turn to what I consider the best source of information - the Pelican Board.

I am currently putting a 1987 Carrera 3.2 engine (Motronics) into a 1974 914. I think I have everything pretty much done in the conversion process, but - I ran across a couple of areas I need information.

In reviewing everything I can across two items which are listed in the PET but I wondering if I need them:
1. PET for 1987-89 shows a fuel accumulator part #911 110 197 02
reference PET 911 1989 Illustration #201-10, dated 21.08.2006

Do I need this part on my conversion which is Motronic 1987 3.2
Carrera engine in stock configuration???

2. Mass Air Flow part #930 606 123 00 shows a plug part #928 606 221 00
reference PET 911 1989 Illustration #107-00, dated 21.08.2006

My same part does not have the plug in the MAF which is located on the
bottom of the MAF.

What does this plug do and do you need it installed, or can it be left
open?

I hope someone can provide this information so I can be sure I have done everything possible for the conversion.
