911SC odometer motor
Does anyone know if the little drive motor for the odometer is available anywhere? My speedo works but the ODO just quit while i was driving. I thought it was the gear but that is fine - I took it to a repair shop and he said the motor is locked up and needs to be replaced. I hate to take apart a good speedo just for for the odo motor.

Do a search for "speedometer gear" and you'll see plenty of ideas and explanations on how to repair it.
Here is one of them Odometer Gear replacement for Electronic Speedometers (long)

Thanks for the reply but the gear is not the problem, the drive motor with the worm gear that drives the gear that usually breaks has locked up apparently.

I looked in the Porsche PET catalog and couldn't find it there. I would find out if there are any shops local to you that rebuild speedometers/odometers. There's a company out in Riverside, California called United Speedometer that rebuilt both my old Mercedes and my old VW speedometers. They do great work and I can definitely vouch for them.
