Hi all,
I'm fitting a 68 911 T engine and a later style (73 I think) oil tank in a 912. Is the tread type and screw fittings on the oil similar on both early and later style oil tanks. I don't want to buy the early oil lines and find they don't fit. I also have nothing to compare what I have to, so any any help would be much appreciated. The tank I have has a thread on the inlet and no thread on the outlet. Is the thread size the same for all years. Regards Alan |

Alan,
I just found out the hard way! I have a 70 that I am putting an 84 oil cooling system on. In 72 or 73 the oil line fittings increased from 28x1.5mm to 30x1.5mm. So without measuring your actual connections, I would guess you have a 28mm connection at the engine and a 30mm connection at the tank. Swapping the engines 28mm connection for a 30mm connection is no big deal. First thing I would do is measure all of the connections to see exactly what you have. If you need any help let me know. Good luck! BK |
