Roll Cage Foam
Ford discovered some interesting things when they investigated the death Eric Medlen at the Gainsville track in 2007. It turns out that your head doesn't just hit the foam once or twice,
In Eric's case he actually hit the cage hundreds of times. It has to do with harmonics and oscillation. I think there are some things in this article we might want to follow up on. Richard Newton Porsche Race Car Blog Last edited by rfn026; 03-24-2009 at 07:48 AM.. Reason: spelling |

We seem to discuss a lot of roll bars/cages here. There was some interesting stuff at Sebring this past weekend. I've got a little bit of everything here. A few months back I posted the 2009 RSR cages fo I didn't repeat it here.
Ferrari strikes me as the most interesting one. Keep in mind that this design if factory engineering. Richard Newton |

Interesting, as I need to refoam my race car. I was just going to use the padding sold by Pegasus. Do you have any more exterior/cockpit pics of the 911 with the helmet boxes? Thanks.

That's the only one I have. I've seen others around on the web but they're not common. H*ll - a real 911R isn't very common
