A couple of questions re: my refurb.

I have been refurbishing under the wheel arches, and have a couple of questions if I may.

1. Does any have a correct Porsche horn (and picture) for sale. This is what I have today :-

2. How do I reattach the wiring connectors to the bodywork - are they in effect like a grommet. I can connect the inner and outer ends and get the indicators and lights to work, but I cannot get them flush to prevent water coming in through the inner wing holes :-

3. The RH horn grill fits pretty flush against the indicator housing. The LH one has a gap and you can see the white paint between - can the attachment to the body be adjusted ? Anyone got any close-ups of good fitting units ?

Any answers and pictures greatly received.

Ian

Hey ian Im no expert on horns but that looks like a late model Hella horn. They are widly availale on ebay as a decent replacement. how do you like the sound of it.....Im looking to replace my horn because the PO put something that sounds like a bug horn on my car.

As far as the wiring goes...... That big plug has a recessed line around it that fits into the wheel well sheet metal. Its tough to get in and some small screwdrivers are usually the ticket. The the plug slides right in from the inside trunk space.

Darren

The horn is a new one I bought specifically to get it through the raod test we have here - the MOT.

I would like a picture of an original and a source for one if possible.

I will warm and lube the grommet and get it fixed in some how.

try some dishwashing liquid on the grommet. Original horns were twin trumpet horns. I have same gap on my 73 on the right side (as seen looking at it from the front. Drivers side US. New gasket on turn signal might minimize.
