sw chip?

I purchased an '88 Cab back in January, the PO told me that it had an SW chip in it. I'm pulling the driver's seat to repair the electric seats, and thought I'd verify the chip.

Because of the sheer number of threads on these chips, I'll admit that I haven't done a search. I am unfamiliar with this chip, and don't know if it has any particular identifiers. I'm hoping a helpful Pelican will be able to post a pic of an actual SW chip so I can do a quick check while I'm in there.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

I just put one in my 88 911 Coupe

I just bought and installed a Steve Wong Performance Chip in my 1988 911 Carrera Coupe and you will see that it is not the stock chip and says 911Chip or Steve Wong on it. You should be able to tell simply from looking at the chip, without removing the chip itself from the DME.

good luck!

Kidrock, looking at my orig. chip from 1987 it has a silver foil type sticker on top with a factory number like, 1 267 355 358. My SW chip clearly says 911chips, you will see the difference.
