throttle question

tonight on my ride. I really didn't let the car warm up. and I took off down the street and it shook violently. but when I used the hand throttle and that seemed to help. when the car is warmed up it runs a lot better. also with the same issue I took off and went to a stop light. and the car shook and died. with people behind me trying to get through the stop sign. the darn car would not start. for nothing. after a few choice words it actaully cranked and cranked and the pitch got higher and higher. and finally started. I must have flooded it because it acted like my other car when flooded. smoked like a mother... my question is when the car dies like that. do I give it full hand throttle and crank it until it runs.? after I got to my destination was there for an hour. went out and it started right up. like no problems. any ideas?

I appreciate your imput

Sounds like a WUR problem which effects warm up most but also effects control pressure when warm and can lean/richen mixture if not working. Does it backfire warming up, prbably not because you samll gas (rich) and backfires usually are lean on warm up. Do a search here on WUR.
